Awesome New Bright-Eyes and Bushy-Tales ... - Fitness Health and Food

While Nick and I are finishing our journey to D.C. I am so pleased to share another awesome guest post courtesy of Jessica from Bright-Eyes and Busy Tales! Jessica is a fellow Chicago blogger who shares delicious healthy recipes, fun workouts, and creative tips for staying healthy despite a hectic schedule. In fact, Jess was nice enough to find the time to put together an awesome new workout and playlist for all of you despite being in middle of studying for the Illinois bar exam!

I highly recommend popping over to Bright-Eyes and Bushy Tales to say hi to Jess. Not only does she share wonderfully helpful information but her upbeat and outgoing personality always shine through her posts and make me smile!

Awesome New Bright-Eyes and Bushy-Tales Workout and Playlist

Hi fitness health and fooders! :)

I?m Jessica, and I blog over at Bright-Eyes & Bushy-Tales!

I am a 25-year-old lover of life with a huge passion for fitness and, of course, FOOD!

I spent most of my younger years enjoying a quieter life back in Indiana, until I got my big girl pants on and moved to the beautiful city of Chicago (we will miss you Jenny!!) with my boyfriend, Justin.

{Kinda cute, ain?t he?}

I am going to be an attorney by trade (that is?if I pass this little thing called the Bar Exam at the end of July!), but blogging is now an amazingly rewarding hobby of mine that I enjoy in all that ?spare time? I think I have! ;)

{Nerd Alert!}

I blog daily about my ?stories? (hence the ?tales,? clever, dontcha think?!) of the healthy life I *try* to live each day. I emphasize the *try* because I am definitely still learning, and I am sharing it all with you along the way!

While I talk about all sorts of shenanigans on BEBT, the blog is part food (I share all my healthy-ish recipes!), part fitness (including lots of kick-booty playlists), part mental wellness (I dish out ?doses of happy? on Mondays), a little bit of ?fashion,? and a lot of life stories mixed in.

I am a HUGE Jenny and Fitness Health & Food fan, so I jumped at the opportunity to share a little of her space with a guest post!

Today, I want to give you guys a couple of fun ?tools? to add to your sweat sesh arsenal!

I have been loving on the treadmill lately, but I get bored really easily, so I started coming up with some interval sets that make the time fly by (and keep my attention from wandering off to the crazy person inevitably always in front of me running at a constant 10.0).

Since I have been enjoying these sets so much lately, I have decided to share my latest combo with all of you! Woo to the hooo.

This one, I call the ?Gotta Get Up & Get Down Set,? and it goes like this:

Gotta Get Up & Get Down Set
Minute Incline Speed
0 to 4 6 4
4 to 6 1 6
6 to 7 1 7
7 to 7:30 1 8
7:30 to 8 1 9
8 to 10 6 4
10 to 12 1 6.2
12 to 13 1 7.2
13 to 13:30 1 8.2
13:30 to 14 1 9.2
14 to 16 6 4
16 to 18 1 6.5
18 to 19 1 7.5
19 to 19:30 1 8.5
19:30 to 20 1 9.5
20 to 22 6 4
22 to 24 1 6.2
24 to 25 1 7.2
25 to 25:30 1 8.2
25:30 to 26 1 9.2
26 to 28 6 4
28 to 30 1 6
30 to 31 1 7
31 to 31:30 1 8
31:30 to 32 1 9
32 to 35 6 4

If those 8s & 9s freak you out, I totally get it, about a month ago I wouldn?t set foot on a speed over 7?noooo thank you!!

However, if I drink my go-go juice (lots of h2o) and put on a brave face, I can now tackle some 30-second sprints with the best of them, even with my short little 5?3?? legs. To get through them, I tell myself ?you can do anything for 30-seconds,? and focus on whatever goal I have at the time (post Bar-exam vaca bikini, anyone?).

This set is great for anyone who wants to experiment with some higher speeds, without getting too cray cray. I think it gives just the perfect amount of time to recover between sprints.

In addition to my issues with general treadmill boredom, I also suffer from M.A.D.D. Music Attention Deficit Disorder. I get bored with songs VERY fast, and I am not someone who can just press ?shuffle? and go (maybe it?s because of all of the NSync Christmas music I have on my iPizzle).

This is not the best thing for me, because my boyfriend constantly scolds me for how much dinero I spend on iTunes (gold star customer, hollaaa), but it?s a great thing for my readers because they get brand-spakin?-new, kick-booty playlists almost weekly.

And today, I?m serving my newest list up to you, and it?s a GOODIE. You?re welcome! ;)

{A little disclaimer ? if you don?t like country music, and if you don?t have the music taste of a 13-year-old, you might want to stop reading here.}

  1. Days Like These, Jason Aldean
  2. Uncharted, Sara Bareilles
  3. One Day, LMFAO
  4. Smoke a Little Smoke, Eric Church
  5. Moves Like Jagger (The Voice Performance), Maroon 5 [feat. Christina Aguilera]
  6. Liberty Walk, Miley Cyrus
  7. Crazy Possessive, Kaci Battaglia
  8. Better With the Lights Off, New Boyz [feat. Chris Brown]
  9. Love You Like a Love Song, Selena Gomez & The Scene
  10. Gunpowder & Lead, Miranda Lambert
  11. Perfect Two (Acoustic) (stretch those legs out to this one)

**All available for purchase on iTunes now!

This mix is about 39 minutes long, so it will get you through the Gotta Get Up & Get Down Set, and leave you a few minutes for that ever-important, post-sweat-sesh stretching.

It?s been so nice meeting all of you lovely readers! Do come by and see me sometime,

I love new friends! :)

Have a happy & healthy day, ya?ll!

xoxo

Jess
